Galvanized steel is carbon steel coated with a protective zinc layer that prevents corrosion and significantly extends service life. The zinc coating forms a barrier that blocks moisture, oxygen, and corrosive substances while also providing sacrificial protection. Even when the surface is damaged, zinc corrodes first, protecting the steel beneath.

 

The galvanization process is primarily achieved through hot-dip processing, in which the steel strip passes through molten zinc at approximately 450℃. During this process, multiple zinc–iron alloy layers form and bond metallurgically to the steel substrate, creating superior coating adhesion and long-term durability.
